EASTERN GREY KANGAROOS
It is difficult to see the rare mammals that are only found in the mountainous rainforests of the wet tropics without the help of an experienced guide who knows their habitat.

Wait-a-While Tours will take you on a stunning scenic drive through lowland to highland Rainforest around Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands. This Rainforest & Wildlife Tour experiences Wildlife in its' natural environment. It is the best tour for seeing the widest range of native plants, mammals, reptiles & birds.

Established in 1982 Wait-a-While has earned the reputation of being the region's best tour operator for true ecologically focused day & night rainforest tours. They specialise in very small groups and each safari is suitable for all people with an interest in wildlife - from a casual interest or hobbyists to scholars/study groups & professionals.

As a Day & Night tour covering various elevations it enables guests to truly experience the full majesty of the Rainforest. The experienced and passionate Guides talk guests through local history, soils, geography, environment, indigenous people, plants & Wildlife. Guides also help guests with spotting Wildlife.

This tour offers the best opportunity to see Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo and Lemuroid, Green and Herbert River Ringtail Possums along with many other native animals. In the afternoon explore world heritage rainforest and varied birdlife. Look for the smallest and most primitive Kangaroo - The Musky Rat Kangaroo and platypus.

Enjoy dinner at a country restaurant then head to a high altitude misty rugged rainforest area for your spotlighting adventure.

Later relax with a candlelight supper to reflect on what you have seen and heard, returning to Port Douglas with an increased appreciation of the beauty and complexity of rainforest life.
