Northern Experience Eco Tours offer small group personalised tours through the World Heritage Rainforest, Waterfalls, Lakes & Wildlife areas of the Southern Atherton Tablelands.

The Atherton Tablelands, rich in Rainforest, Waterfalls, Agriculture, Wildlife, extinct Volcanic Crater lakes with a history reaching back 420 million years and 62 eruption sites uncovered. Today it is one of the most beautiful natural areas of Australia.

Sir David Attenborough described this area as "A portrait of Australia's Garden of Eden".

Your day begins departing Cairns to the awe inspiring Spanish Castle Historic Ruin in the rainforest - Paronella Park. Here you will have ample time to explore this amazing tourist attraction. From a guided tour of the Castles in the rainforest to the Tunnel of Love through to the beautiful Theresa falls, this area has a lot to offer including the Mena Creek Falls.

From here you ascend via Sugar and banana plantations into the World Heritage Rainforest & Waterfalls area in the Southern Atherton Tablelands .

Next stop is the World Famous Millaa Millaa Falls (Aboriginal for "plenty water" ) for a photo opportunity of this picturesque waterfall. Then Venturing further along the mountains through quaint villages to the giant Curtain Fig Tree. With a height of 50 meters and a base circumference of 39 meters this rainforest giant is sure to amaze.

Your last stop on the Tablelands is to the volcanic crater Lake Barrine for the "Rainforest - Wildlife Cruise" (option) and a nature walk to the 1000 y.o. Kauri Pines, before arriving back in Cairns after an unforgettable day!
