Market Days

It's a great idea to combine your sight-seeing with a local market.  If you're looking for something to do and it's a weekend check out the following rough guide to markets in the local area around Cairns. 

Monthly markets are held the first Saturday from 7am at Platypus Park, Herberton Rd

Monthly markets are held the first Saturday, except January, starting at 8am, Munro St.

Cairns Esplanade Markets every Saturday, 8am-4pm by the Lagoon - see for more info.
Night Markets, every day, 4:30pm-11pm. Entrances are from either the Esplanade or Abbott St.

Rusty's Markets, all day Friday and until 2pm Staurday and Sunday, Grafton St, beside Gilligan's Backpackers Hotel and Resort.

Weekly markets are held the first Saturday of the month from Easter to December on the Esplanade.

Weekly markets are held every Saturday, 8am-noon, at Lions Park.

Edge Hill
Carnival on Collins, held on Fathers Day each September, 9am-3pm at the Botanic Gardens Precinct on Collins Avenue - see for more info.
Tanks Markets, held the last Sunday of the month from April to November, 9am-2pm at the Botanic Gardens Precinct on Collins Avenue - see for more info.

Cottage Markets are held monthly on the first Saturday, 7am-noon, Norman Park

Monthly markets are held the third Sunday, 7:30am-noon, at the Wondecla Sports Ground.

Holloways Beach
Monthly markets are held on the second Sunday, 8am-noon, on the grassy parkland beachfront. 

Innisfail Red Cross Markets are held on the third Saturday of the month in Anzac Memorial Park.

Monthly markets are held the second Sunday at the Kairi Community Hall.

Kuranda Markets in Therwine St and Heritage Markets are open every day, 9am-3pm.

Monthly markets are held the third Saturday, 6am-noon, in Jack May Park.

Monthly markets are held the second Saturday in Centenary Park, Byrnes St.

Mission Beach
Mission Beach Monster Markets are on the last Sunday of each month. There are a huge variety of stalls - locally grown fruit and vegetables, plants, clothing, jewellery, are & craft, second-hand goods, plus lots of home made food and smoothies, tea/coffee, ice-cream... The Mission Beach Rotary Club manages and promotes these markets.  For further information please contact 07) 40687220.  Monster Markets held the last Sunday, 8am-2pm, April to November at Marcs Park.
Mission Beach Markets are located opposite Hideaway Caravan Park, Mission Beach.  These Beach Markets are on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.  Fresh local produce, plants, arts & crafts, clothing, hats, delicious fresh food and much, much more.  For further information contact ken Campbell on 40687126. 

Markets are every Saturday, 7am-noon, under the raintrees in Mossman.

Mt Molloy
Monthly markets are on the first Saturday of each month at the QCSW Hall.

Palm Cove
First Sunday of the month (unless otherwise specified)  April to December, 08:00am - 2:00pm, Williams Esplanade 
The Palm Cove markets showcase local, quality handmade products from contemporary jewellery, leather work, pottery, clothes, skincare, plants and produce, wellness stalls and food.  The markets have great family entertainment including free crazy golf and a free jumping castle.

Port Douglas
Sunday Markets - 8:30am - 2pm, Anzac Park, across from The Courthouse Hotel.
Wednesday Sunset Markets -  2pm - 7pm at  The Reef Marina
Cruise Ship Arrivals day Markets - All day at The Reef Marina

Monthly markets are held on the fourth Sunday, 8am-noon, Railway Station, Grigg St. 
Archer Creek Fun country monthly markets are held the second Sunday, 16km West of Ravenshoe on the Kennedy Highway.

Markets are held every fortnight on Sundays, 9am-noon, 48km south of Cooktown. Ph: 4060 3112

Monthly markets are held the first Sunday at the Morrow Park Racecourse in Tolga.

Markets are held the second and fourth Saturday at the showground.

Markets are held the fourth Saturday, 7:30am-12:30pm, Bruce Jones Market Grounds, Yungaburra.  You can't miss them.
